Madison’s Bike to Work Weeks Last Day Friday

This week was Madison’s bike to work event. Everyday different stations were set up with things like yoga, stretching and always good hot coffee. Today was “Bacon on the bike path”. Planet Bike’s sizzled up Bacon to be given to the bikers. This is the 7th year they have done this free event handing out bacon and hoping to see more people each year.

Friday is your last chance to hope on your bike & hit the streets with all the other participants. There will be a celebration at Cronometro on Lakeside from 4:30 to 7:00pm. Beverages are going to be provided by the Bike Club & Capitol Brewery. Munchies will be provided by Whole Foods.

Tips for Hot Weather Showings

Here are 4 simple tips to help when the weather is warmer & you have a showing set up on the house you are selling.

Keep it cool: Keeping the house at a comfortable temperature will keep the potential buyers there longer. We suggest around setting it at 72. This is a nice average temperature that will make most people comfortable.
Smells are not your friend: Warmer weather intensify even moderate smells. If you have pets, remove them for the showing. Remove the cat’s letter box & dogs beds. Spray their area with a solution like Febreze to freshen the area. For basements, keep your dehumidifier running to keep it dry. If you still have a slight musty smell wipe down surfaces with a lite bleach solution.
Nice look lawn: Try to keep the yard as green as possible. If your have local water usage restrictions water when you can. Back yards are as important as the front so keep it clean and tidy.
Windows & Doors: During the summer screens get clogged with pollen and other plant matter. Make sure to wipe them down to remove all the bits. A can of dusting air also works like a charm. Clean the windows inside & out to make them sparkle.

Good Luck with the sale of your house. Warm weather or cold there are buyers out there for it. Keep these simple tips in mind during the warmer days & it will show wonderfully.

Ala Cart was a great success

Even if Friday was a little cool, the Ala Cart event was busy. Isthmus sold over 750 tickets and it seemed that most people showed up to enjoy the samples from Madison’s food carts. Kolaches were the way to go and they were delicious. Some other favorites were the Egg Rolls, Beer Jelly & Fancy Cupcakes. If someone stopped to see us they could get a cake pop, a cupcake & sign up for the chance to win a dinner for 2. Plus we had balloons!

Over all we had about 100 people sign up for the change to win a free dinner, gave away all the balloons & most of the cake pops.

We’re going to be at Isthmus A La Carts tonight

Tonight Forward Realty Group will be at ala Carts at Olin Park.

It’s a celebration of Madison’s food cart culture. There are about 30 carts so there will be everything from natural juice to fancy empanadas. The even has been sold out for week so we’re planning on seeing about 800 people attending. Hope the weather gets nicer by this afternoon or it’s going to be chilly.

Ever since than Madison has been using creative ways & ideas to connect a network of off-street paths and bike lanes that crisscross the city & beyond. Just out side Madison in all 4 directions there are bike paths for recreation, commuting into the city & going out into the beautiful country side.

On gorgeous days like today the paths will see a lot of traffic. People will be biking, running or walking. There’s enough space for everyone.
